Babinden is one of the most emotional and beloved holidays in Bulgaria. It is the same in the municipality of Bansko.
January 21 was a holiday for many families in the municipality, in whose homes joy entered in 2023. Last year, 89 babies were born, of which 45 were girls and 44 were boys. The most of them - 59, are from Banskalia, 25 are the babies in the town of Dobrinishte, 3 in the village of Filipovo and one each in the village of Mesta and the village of Kremen.
As tradition dictates, in the town of Dobrinishte the customs of "Watering", "Sprinkling the baby" and "Breaking the Virgin Mary's cake" were observed. In a festive atmosphere, to which the folk costumes of babies, young mothers and grandmothers contributed, the mayor of the city, Ivan Sakarev, congratulated the celebrants and presented each baby with a silver letter beginning with his name.
The celebration for all young mothers from the municipality was in Bansko, where a festive lunch and program were organized and flowers and gifts were presented by the municipal administration.
The mothers were greeted by Sashka Vachkova - Deputy Mayor of Bansko Municipality. The personal presence of the mayor Stojcho Banenski was prevented, but with a video message he congratulated the young women on the day when the greatest miracle is celebrated - the birth of the new life, and we bow before the most sacred thing for everyone - the mother. The mayor thanked all the medical specialists, with whose help the new life is born, and categorically stated that he will spare no effort in his work to create good living conditions for children, because they are the future of Bansko.
